Olympiaction

The "Olympiaction - It's the Participation That Counts" concept brings the Olympic Games to Germany's largest train stations from August 8 to August 24, 2008. In this context Public Playing has been based on the original idea of re-establishing the ancient games in modern times. Called "A Meeting of the World's Youth", it is intended to foster the thought of athletic competition, achievement and international understanding.

In concert with Jost von Brandis, Ströer DERG Media and Extrajetzt, the public displays in train stations will become playing areas.

Several people at a time can interact with a program that is displayed on a large screen that has been centrally placed for that purpose. The users, or players, respectively, control the real-time interaction using their own cell phones via a Bluetooth connection.

The game concept involves a competition that consists of several individual contests from which an overall score is derived. The individual contests can represent the athletic activities of swimming, martial arts and weight training, ball games, gymnastics and track and field sports.

The participating players create a game figure on their own mobile phones, which then participates in the athletic contests on the large display and is visible to everyone.
