Public Playing is to be integrated with existing screen systems during the 3-week-long European Soccer Championship games. Public Playing is the interactive progression of Public Viewing, which became popular through the World Cup 2006.

The personal mobile phone of each user is connected to the game server and the big display in the public area via Public Playing. Game moves are initiated using the mobile phone and shown on the public display.

On warm, summery evenings, passers-by in public areas are to be actively caught up in the game, corresponding to the 2008 European Championship motto "Experience Emotions": A community is created from a group of strangers who are merely in geographic proximity and come into contact with one another through play.

Even passive onlookers will not be able to ignore this innovative form of communication.
